Gaga could earn more than $100 million in 2011

Lady Gaga might show up wearing filet mignon at this year's MTV Video Music Awards — the 24-year-old singer is expected to make more than $100 million this year.

Forbes magazine reports that Gaga is poised to be the top-earning music act of 2011, thanks to her new CD, touring, merchandising and endorsements.

The New York native will play 41 shows over the next six months, taking in an estimated $33 million, or approximately $800,000 per show.

Her new record, "Born This Way," drops in June, and if past sales are any indication, it should rake in $10-$15 million. Since Gaga also writes her own songs, she'll likely get an additional $10-$15 million in royalties from radio play.

With the release of "Born This Way," Gaga may launch a larger, stadium tour in the second half of the year. That means an additional $45 million (or $1,000,000 per day).

The savvy businesswoman also promotes a whole range of products, including Polaroid video sunglasses, Virgin Mobile phones, and Beats by Dre headphones. The endorsements should get her another $5-$10 million.

As Forbes sums it up, that's $80-$90 million for touring and merchandise, $20-$30 million for album and radio play, and $5-$10 million for endorsements - which means Gaga could make between $100-$130 million this year.

“She’s just hitting her stride artistically and commercially now,” Bernie Resnick, who represents Gaga’s manager, tells Forbes. “We’re only seeing the beginning.”

Lady Gaga wanted by tea companies

Lady Gaga is reportedly at the centre of a bidding war from major tea brands keen to get the pop star to represent their blend. Old English firm Twinings is said to be one of the companies interested in the singer. "Her management have received a load of offers from major tea companies but Twinings are the front-runners,” a source said. Not only would the 24 year-old be fronting the company's publicity campaign, they are reportedly planning on creating a new blend for her. "Names like The Taste Of GaGa are being batted about. The idea is to have tasting sessions in which she would participate,” the source told The Sun. "The tasters are coming up with a tea with an oriental flavour. They want to market tea to a new, younger generation - particularly in America - and GaGa is making drinking tea cool again."

Lady Gaga launches charity lipstick

Alejandro singer Lady Gaga has brought out her own charity lipstick. Gaga, real name Stefani Germanotta, has launched a lippy called Viva Glam GaGa for MAC cosmetics. The lipstick will help to raise money for the MAC Aids Fund. It can be bought for £12.50 and all profits and sales go to the charity. And the 24-year-old's new cosmetic appears to be going down a storm. MAC chief executive Nancy Mahon said: "It's all about being glamorous and having fun but also helping a very good cause."

Get shorty! Lady Gaga named most important star in showbiz (even if she does forget to do her flies up) Print

It's hard to believe at first glance that this is the garish and outrageous Lady Gaga.

But on closer inspection, underneath that casual attire, the Telephone star is unmistakable.

The 24-year-old singer chose an unusually dressed-down outfit to go out for coffee on the day she was named the most important star in showbiz.

She left the rubber, lace and studs at home as U.S. magazine Time included her in the annual 100 'movers and shakers' list.

Her hair loose and unbrushed around her shoulders, she seemed a little taken aback as she was confronted by the cameras as she left the coffee shop with a friend on Thursday afternoon.

Maybe it was because she was caught wearing clothes not normally seen on the controversial singer.

Or maybe it was because the zipper on her shorts hadn't been fastened properly, leaving a gaping hole.

Lady Gaga Preaches, Practices Celibacy Print

Singing sensation, sex symbol, rumored hermaphrodite ... and celibacy advocate?

If you've seen her music or seen any Lady Gaga pictures, you know about her racy, sexually-charged

songs and outfits. But the star says she's celibate.

Come on ... really? Really.

"I can’t believe I’m saying this – don’t have sex," Lady Gaga told the UK's Daily Mail while discussingher

role in Mac’s Viva Glam campaign, which supports global HIV and AIDS projects. "I’m single right now

and I’ve chosen to be single."

"Because I don’t have the time to get to know anybody," she said. "So it’s OK not to have sex,

it’sOK to get to know people. I’m celibate, celibacy’s fine."

Ra Ra Ra Ah Ah

Celibacy is something Lady Gaga wants "to celebrate" with her fans.

"It’s OK to be whomever it is that you want to be," she said. "You don’t have to have sex to feel

good about yourself. If you’re not ready, don’t do it. If you are ready, there are free condoms given

away at my concerts when you’re leaving!"

She's a real humanitarian.

The important thing, Lady Gaga said, is to be true to yourself: "I remember the cool girls when I was

growing up. Everyone started to have sex. But it’s not really cool any more to have sex all the time.

It’s cooler to be strong and independent."

Unlike Bristol Palin, she practices what she preaches.

Says she's proud to be a role model, too. "When you’re in the public eye, you’re a role model whether

you want to be or not. I want to be. I’m not one of those self-obsessed artists who don’t care about

their fans. It’s not just about the music."

Turning Japanese Print

She may be a little misunderstood at times, but Lady Gaga made sure she sent out a message few outside of Japan would understood as she landed in the Far East.

The singer arrived at New Tokyo International Airport in Narita, east of Tokyo, with a message inked on to her forearm - written in the Japanese alphabet of Katakana.

In an angular grey asymmetric suit, with wide parachute trousers, huge black platform heels, leather cuffs and sunglasses the 24-year-old superstar growled and waved at fans.

She also carried a large white Hermès Birkin bag (worth £3,000) which she defaced with the message "I love little monster, Tokyo love." in the Japanese alphabet of Katakana - and she had "I love little monster" written on her forearm.

The singer refers to her army of loyal fans as her little monsters.

Over the weekend her first album, The Fame, went back to the top of the UK album chart for the fourth time.

The LP, which was released in January 2009, made its first appearance at the top of the chart exactly a year ago and has spent a total of 48 weeks in the top 10.

Her return to number one pushed last week's chart-toppers, Boyzone, down to number two.

Meanwhile, fellow female performer M.I.A has criticised Lady Gaga's music, dismissing it as "20-year-old Ibiza disco" and accusing her of mimicking.

In an interview with the NME the singer said: 'She models herself after Grace Jones and Madonna but the music sounds like 20-year-old Ibiza disco.

'She’s not progressive, but she’s a good mimic. She sounds more like me than I f*****g do! That’s a talent… but she’s the industry’s last stab at making itself important.'
